what cold does
Cooling the under-eye area produces an immediate change in how it looks: the tissue reads tighter, shadows look shallower, and the whole area feels less congested. It's the reason cold spoons and chilled jade rollers have survived every skincare trend of the last century.
A gel eye mask holds cold against the skin far more evenly and for far longer than any of those tools, which is why it's the more useful version of the same idea.
how to chill patches properly
- Refrigerator, not freezer. Around 4°C. Freezing can damage the gel structure and makes the patch stiff and uncomfortable.
- Chill the sealed sachet. Never open a patch and leave it exposed to chill; it dries out.
- Thirty minutes is enough. Overnight is fine too — the sachet protects the formula.
- Cool room, cool result. A patch stored in a warm bathroom cupboard loses most of the temperature effect.
cooling plus hydration
Cold alone is temporary. What makes a cooling eye mask worth the fifteen minutes is that the cold arrives packaged with occlusive hydration and copper peptides, so the area still looks better an hour later — after the temperature effect has faded.
