Niacinamide appears in our ingredient guide as a skin-conditioning ingredient. That is a description of its cosmetic role, not permission to apply every niacinamide serum to the eyelids. When deciding what belongs under your eyes, begin with the finished product's directions and intended area of use—not the active ingredient's reputation.
The formula matters more than the headline ingredient
Two products can contain niacinamide and still differ in texture, other ingredients and instructions. A facial serum can include exfoliating ingredients or have an explicit direction to avoid the eye area. Read the whole label. Do not override a warning because another product with the same headline ingredient is marketed for under-eyes.
More layers are not a controlled experiment
Our patches are applied to clean, dry skin and already contain their own formula. A separate niacinamide serum underneath is not part of that instruction. If you use another product afterwards, check that it is suitable for the area and introduce it independently, rather than starting multiple new products on the same morning. This is about keeping your routine understandable, not promising better results from a particular combination.
What about dark circles?
The appearance people call dark circles can involve pigment, visible vessels, contours and lighting. Seeing niacinamide on a label does not establish that a product can change all of those. We do not present pep patch as a treatment for pigmentation or a solution to inherited hollowing. Be wary of an ingredient-led promise that skips the finished-product evidence and the reason the area looks dark.
Comfort comes before concentration
A higher percentage is not a personal tolerance test. Follow the label, avoid direct eye contact and stop if irritation occurs. If you have an ongoing eyelid condition or use prescribed skincare, ask a clinician before adding products in that area. You do not need a separate niacinamide serum to make an otherwise comfortable routine complete.
frequently asked
- Can I use any niacinamide serum under my eyes?
- No. Follow the finished product's placement directions and warnings. An ingredient name alone does not establish suitability for the eye area.
- Does niacinamide in pep patch guarantee lighter dark circles?
- No. We do not make that guarantee. Dark-circle appearance has different causes, and ingredient presence is not finished-product efficacy evidence.
